Frequently Asked Questions
Discover quick and comprehensive answers to common questions about our platform, services, and features.
- What does the curl converter do?
- It turns supported curl commands into code for over 20 HTTP clients, including Python Requests, JavaScript fetch, Node.js, Axios, PHP curl, Guzzle, Go, Java, C#, Ruby and Wget. Supported request details are preserved according to each client's capabilities. Browser fetch uses browser-managed headers and cookies.
- Can I convert a curl command from API documentation into REST API client code?
- Yes. Paste the Bash curl example from any REST API documentation and pick a language. Placeholders like $API_TOKEN are kept as text, so you can replace them with your values.
- Do you send my curl command to a server?
- No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser with the open-source requestcodegen library. Nothing you paste is sent to a server or stored, so tokens and cookies stay on your computer.
- How do I get a curl command from my browser?
- Open the developer tools, go to the Network tab, right-click a request and choose Copy → "Copy as cURL (bash)". Then paste it into the converter.
- Which curl options are not supported?
- Options that read files or stdin (such as -d @file or -F), shell features like pipes and $(...), and multiple requests in one command are not supported. The converter shows an error instead of generating incomplete code. Output-only options such as -s, -v, -o and -w are accepted and left out of the generated code.
