I bought a spot for ScreenshotOne on my friend’s car for $250.
Part of it was supporting my friend, Dan Mindru. But I also liked it as a small marketing experiment: a fixed cost, a year of exposure, and a chance that the story would travel further than the car itself.
I shared the reasoning on X on August 30, 2026. This is the longer version, with an early update on how it is going.
What is AdCar?
AdCar sells advertising space on Dan’s Mercedes-AMG coupé. You choose a panel on the car, upload your logo, and pay once to have your ad on it for 12 months.
The website lets you explore the placements in a 3D viewer or a technical drawing and preview your logo before buying. Here is the technical view, with ScreenshotOne on the driver-front wing:
The car is based in Copenhagen. AdCar’s planned routes include trips to Stockholm, Oslo, and Berlin, with startup offices along the way. That is part of the appeal for a product built for developers and makers.
AdCar also lists monthly photos posted to X and a permanent logo and link on its website among the benefits. The car gives Dan something to keep sharing, and the sponsors get to be part of that story.
Why I bought a spot
When I bought it, I expected at least three things:
- 12 months on the car, which Dan plans to drive around technology companies.
- A shoutout to an existing audience of 43,000+ followers and subscribers across X and YouTube.
- ScreenshotOne’s logo and links on the AdCar website.
My confirmation was for spot #8, the driver-front wing, measuring 90 × 16 cm, for $250:

That is the original purchase confirmation. The website has since changed its panel numbering and dimensions; the screenshots here were captured on October 4, 2026.
ScreenshotOne is also on AdCar’s brand wall, alongside other makers and their products:
Dan plans to promote the project more aggressively. Once the car is wrapped and starts driving around, there is a chance that photos and the story will spread, or that more media will pick it up.
That possibility was the extra upside I liked. It is a tiny bet with a chance of outsized returns, and I get to support a friend while making it.
It kind of works already
On September 3, CB Herald published “$2,000 in 48 Hours as AdCar Sells Space on a Copenhagen AMG”.
The article reports that AdCar took more than $2,000 in its first 48 hours. It also names me and ScreenshotOne as an early buyer of the $250 driver-front-wing placement.
So, yes, it kind of works already: the experiment has earned ScreenshotOne a media mention before the car campaign starts. That is some of the additional visibility I hoped for when I bought the spot.
For now, I am happy that a small purchase to support a friend has already given ScreenshotOne another story and another place to be discovered. The media mention is an early sign of visibility; the customer impact is still something to evaluate.
